Tired of paying high prices at the gas pump? Do you have a choice? Well, you could go back to horse and buggy transport, but be sure to carry a shovel with you. You could ride a bicycle, or walk, but be sure to add extra travel time to your already too busy schedule. Or you could purchase a nifty hybrid car?
What’s a hybrid car?
Hybrid cars run on a battery and electric motor combined with a conventional internal combustion engine. Yes, you will still need to visit the gas pump; however, you will be delighted when you experience one of the benefits of your hybrid car. You will clap your hands in approval when you notice three times the gas mileage. That could really add up to hundreds of dollars over the course of say, a year. How’s that for saving money?
Another benefit; hybrid cars are much easier on the environment. They have lower emissions, resulting in less smog; some say up to 90% reduction. Think of it, if everyone owned a hybrid car the air would be so refreshing to breathe.
And if you buy your car new and keep it yourself, you may even enjoy a large tax deduction.
But what about recharging the battery? Wouldn’t that be a pain, especially on trips when there may be no available places that offer the service? Hybrid cars are different from all-electric cars in that the battery charges as you drive. So, no worries. Just get in and go.
Electric cars are noted for their slow speed, 50-60 miles per hour, however, some newer models of the hybrid cars are being tested at over 130 miles per hour.
One thing is for sure, hybrid cars are here to stay, and we will be seeing many more of them on the roads. Will you be one of the proud new owners? If so, you will enjoy the many benefits associated with the hybrid car. |
