Have you ever watched a car drive by and made the proclamation, “sweet?” Exactly what is a “sweet car?”
To many it may be the Dodge Stealth. Mechanically speaking, history shows the Stealth already existed before it ever made its appearance on American soil in the form of Japan’s Mitsubishi 3000GT. The Stealth was set apart, however, with its own unique body and different options. Its production lasted only from 1991 through 1996. Sweet car, she was indeed.
Everybody loves Ford Mustangs, and rightly so. The Mustang made its first appearance in 1965 and did very well, selling 22,000 the first day alone! The emblem causes most people to think of the horse, but did you know the Mustang was actually named after a fighter plane! This sweet car still enjoys popularity today.
The Maserati Birdcage is a concept car that may or may not make production. If it does it will set many a mouth to drooling. This car is loaded with over 700 horsepower and looks like no car before it. It has no doors. So how do you get in? The nose pops up and then forward. Sweet is putting it mildly.
Antique cars take our hearts back to gentler times. No wonder there are calendars, videos, magazines, and clubs devoted to these sweet cars, alone.
Not possible to buy your own “sweet car.” How can you sweeten up the one you already own? A fabulous new paint job is a possibility. Especially if you can add some fancy vinyl graphics. Most professionals can show you computerized pictures of your car’s model and color with the graphics applied before you actually finalize your choice.
You might even do something as simple as selecting a steering wheel cover, seat covers or something to hang from your rear view mirror. Any way you personalize your car she will be a “sweet car” to you.
